I am so excited to announce that I am going to be one of the teachers for Spectrum 2016! Not only that, but to celebrate this, I’m also giving away one spot in the workshop.
Spectrum is an online Holistic-Creative workshop going on its third year, and organised by Hali Karla of Hali Karla Arts. Spectrum 2016 will be guided by 20 NEW featured teachers and more than 20 returning contributors offering a variety of workshops, inspiration and invitations – all intended to empower, nurture and celebrate your innate creative expression, healing journey, and personal development!
There will be weekly inspiration & reflective activities related to mixed-media art-making and journaling, guidance on integrating your creative process and holistic awareness into your day-to-day life, and a variety of opportunities to connect, support and share with others in the growing Holistic-Creative online community.
The themes that will loosely guide our 2016 Spectrum experience are Forgiveness, Shifting Perspective, Navigating Uncertainty, Integration, Alchemy, Connecting with Nature, Honoring Body, Trusting Joy, and Expressing One’s Truth! You can expect a variety of perspectives on these – and so much more.

I am currently creating my brand new Spectrum workshop for you – it is called, Mother Tree: The art of seeing the forest and the trees.
What is my workshop about?
There are times in our lives when the questions we hold in our hearts are bigger than our human connections. There are times when we don’t have the words or even the emotions to explain or share what is happening in our hearts. It is at times like this that it is important to have a connection with a spirit that is deeper, richer, older and wiser than we are. While many of us are drawn to and feel a healing connection amongst the trees, there is much more to the woods than meets the eye. Forests are complex eco-systems, and – as it turns out – even more deeply connected than we ever imagined. This workshop is about enhancing your resilience and remembering your connection – all supported and held and witnessed by not just the forest – but a mother tree. We’ll be walking, writing and doing a lot of sitting, but mostly we’ll be remembering who we are.

I remember my connection to nature– by going out in nature and mindfully walking in it! THanks for the chance to win!
Every morning before work I get up early and walk in my neighborhood, focusing on the skies, looking for the moon when it is still out. In the spring I love hearing the birdsong start up as the sun rises and the birds wake. The transition from almost absolute quiet (well, except for the cars heading to school and work) to the joyous cacophony of the birds is a great way to start my day. Thanks for the chance to win a spot – Spectrum sounds fabulous!
I am excited that this summer I have the opportunity to spend more time in nature, on beaches and in woods and climbing what we consider a mountain.
I also do some gardening and move around dirt. Feed the birds amd appreciate the sunshine.
Camping helps. Just being submerged in the sights and sounds brings me that connection.
My connection to nature, is hiking mostly or walking whenever and where ever I can, spending time on the lakes. I’m also an avid gardener. I guess I’m a natural Taurus earth girl.
Thanks for the Spectrum opportunity!
I love the sky, the trees, the birds, flowers, bugs and bees, all of it I try to drink in as much as I can.
I look forward to the chance to be part of Spectrum as well.
Ahhh… remembering connection to the natural world is a most beautiful blessing and way I manage to be most present in life. My husband and I moved our family to a small homestead 5.5 years ago so that we could walk in the woods and down to a creek from our backyard. Just this morning we had a lovely walk as the snow was melting and discovered little round icicles hanging like jewels by the creek edge! In addition the walks, I’ve recently started sitting at the base of a tree and leaning into it and breathing in deep. Nature has always been my cathedral… whether when living in South Florida and enjoying the delicious mangos and tropical gardening or traveling and visiting either hiking trails in the wilderness or lovely gardens in the cities. Thanks for the opportunity to win a spot on the wonderful Spectrum offering. Blessings, Julia
I connect to nature on a daily basis by taking care of my houseplants, watering them, opening the curtains for them so they can receive sunlight. Thanks for the opportunity to win a spot in this class. Peace, Ronda
I shared on Facebook!
What a beautiful offering your class is, Meghan, and thank you for the opportunity to win a spot!
I remember my connection to nature with daily walks on the beach at ocean’s edge – usually around sunset. I intentionally moved less than 2 miles from the beach so I could take these walks – it’s become a sacred practice to me. Also, throughout the day, I make the time to look up to the sky, breathe in the energy and feel gratitude for whatever it’s sharing and to notice and celebrate natural beauty in unexpected places (like a flower blooming in a container by the parking garage in town).
I haven’t been able to get down in the dirt with my gardening due to a back injury I am trying to manage the pain from, but that is my passion, I read about plants and I grow during seasons a variation of fruits, veggies, flowers, and herbs. Learning medicinal values and how to properly use these to help with my health and wellbeing. I have wanted to join this online class and I know registration is soon. ☺I hope I will be able to join.
Honestly my cat is a great reminder of the wildness of the natural world. Especially during the winter when I don’t necessarily get outside as much as I would like! Thanks for the opportunity!
In holidays, my connection to nature isn’t very difficult because I love to be in the woods or at the sea. In winter, here in Germany it is cold and rainy, so I am in the house very often. But I love seeing nature through the windows and sometimes, I take a walk. In the house, I have many reminders of the sea (seashells etc.) and of the woods (funny formed woods etc.). Thanks for the chance to win a spot!

I remember my connection to nature by gazing out my huge windows onto an amazing landscape, going out and walking in that landscape, going geocaching, and generally participating in the cyclical seasons at a personal level. Thanks for a chance to win!
I remember my connection to natural world each time I go outside, walking through the forest or staying focused on the flowers and gardens in my neighborhood 🙂
Although they are very domesticated creatures, I am reminded of the beauty in natural world when I interact with my three cats.
Oh your class sounds wonderful, Meghan! My deepest connection with nature is when I’m walking or just sitting among trees and listening to the wind rustle their leaves.
Just te other day I connected to nature, by going out on a walk into the woods. Winter is very soft here, with 11 degrees while normaly it is freezingly cold. It was such a great day, blue skies, sunny and everywere nature allready starts to awaken, and birds are singing as loud as possible. We just sat on a bench and enjoyed it a lot, the best ‘medication’ we had taken that day.
Oh Meghan, I live in the woods. That is where I found myself…my true authentic self! All alone with the “quiet noise” of Mother Nature provides the perfect backdrop for a spiritual awakening of one’s soul! And it is a beautiful thing! I hope that everyone who seeks, shall find, for the Universe is having a very deep conversation with all of us! TUNE IN…Love and Peace and Joy await! Aloha!
Listening, deep listening connects me to nature, to the created world. Sounds of critters voices and movement, rain falling, wind blowing, even to silence. Thanks for the opportunity to win a spot in Spectrum. Your offering sounds inviting.
Thankfully my connection to nature is not hard, I live in Florida and there are beaches everywhere 🙂 thank you so much for the opportunity to be part of Spectrum 🙂
I connect with nature through my body; walking barefoot on the grass, laying in the sand, napping in the sun, etc. I love the feel of nature! Thanks for a chance to win a spot in Spectrum!
I am keenly aware of my connection to nature. I walk, I garden and I step outdoors 2-3x a day to do a sun salutation and offer gratitude for my life.
I remember my connection nature by taking daily walks. Thank you for the chance to win.
I’m slightly obsessed with the sky. I have a wonderful view of the sunset from our deck on our house. I am snapping photos of the sunset pretty much daily! I love that it is always different, and I enjoy looking for the beauty while I keep looking up.
I remember my connection to nature by being outside with my dogs. Just sitting and watching or walking and exploring and noticing things. Being outside with my dogs is my favorite thing to do.
I connect to nature on a daily basis as I work in my garden trying to heal my aversion to weeding. I am trying to make it positive. Trying.
Otherwise I always connect at the beach which I try to get to as much as possible. Or hiking with my family on weekends.
Walking in nature ….the park, the forest, the beach and take my sketch book with me to draw and sketch. It’s my way to connect with nature in a creative way.
I live in the city, so I find it hard to find nature (even the parks here are so man-made), but recently I’ve taken to talking to trees, which helps!
